Church Community & Pastoral

Sophie Lovesmith

Our Church Community & Pastoral Care Team strives to nurture relationships within the gathered community of St Paul's Church.  We are here to ensure that whoever is part of our community feels welcomed, loved, and connected within the life of the church.

Congregational Pastors
You can connect with our Congregational Pastors in any of our services, they are there to help you get involved and connect with your people whoever they may be.  Look out for them in our services
" We listen to the people in the morning services and with their permission pass on any concerns to the clergy".

Bereavement Support
If you or someone you know is experiencing grief in any form, do get in contact with our team to help support you on your journey.

Home Visits
Our team and clergy visit anyone who is unwell, unable to leave the house, in need of support, or for any number of reasons.  If you or someone you know is unwell and housebound, please get in touch to let us know so that we can arrange to visit.

Oasis
A place to meet friends and make connections in the community. A variety of activities and displays are run by our team of friendly volunteers, and you can participate from playing cards or indoor bowls to new crafts and hand massage, or simply reading the paper and having a cup of tea & slice of cake, there is something for everyone.  Oasis runs on the last Tuesday of each month (when the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted) and has pop up events throughout the year. Visit our separate OASIS page to get an impression and find our next dates in our calendar.

Safeguarding
Our visiting team have all been DBS checked and trained in line with the Diocesan and National Safeguarding policies.  For more information about Safeguarding at St Paul’s click here.

Listening Team
The Listening Team offer a free, confidential, non judgemental one to one listening service for anyone who needs someone to talk to.  It is available to anyone over the age of 18 who feels they want to talk to someone in confidence about what is making them worried, anxious or distressed.
It’s not counselling but is a chance to offload and explore your feelings so you can consider the options you have.  We are fully trained by Acorn and are experienced listeners (men and women). We listen to help you decide if any other help is needed.

During the pandemic we have been offering ‘virtual’ listening appointments by phone or Zoom / WhatsApp, and hope to face to face appointments again when they are allowed. If you would like an appointment, please email listening@stpaulscamb.co.uk"
